The Bestie feature in Confide is designed to make conversations seamless and intuitive. Here’s how to get the most out of interacting with your AI companion:

Starting a Conversation

  • Bestie Speaks First: When you open a Bestie session, they will start the conversation.

  • Jump In Anytime: If you have something on your mind, you can interrupt by tapping the audio pulse at the bottom center of the screen and start speaking.

Speaking and Responding

  • After Bestie finishes speaking, you can start your response naturally—there’s no need to press any buttons.

  • Audio Pulse: While you’re speaking, the audio pulse in the bottom center of the screen will capture your voice. Once you finish, the system will automatically detect that you’re done.

  • Bestie will then think (indicated by a very brief pause) before responding.

Visual Features

  • Orb in the Center:

    • This acts as Bestie’s audio pulse while they’re speaking.

    • It also serves as a mood status, fading to different colors based on the tone of your conversation.

  • Mute Option: Located at the bottom left, this lets you mute yourself during the session.

  • Chat Mode: Switch to a text-based conversation at any time by tapping the icon in the bottom right. Your spoken conversations will also appear here as a transcript history, making it easy to reference past interactions.

Personalization Settings

Access the settings menu in the top left of a Bestie session to customize your experience:

  • Change Voice or Name: Update Bestie’s voice or name to better suit your preferences.

  • Manage Memories:

    • View the memories Bestie has created based on your journal entries and past conversations.

    • Bestie summarizes all the meaningful insights into memories for easy review.

    • You can delete specific memories if you wish, giving you full control over what your Bestie knows about you.
